Getting all multi-game'ish with Dust 514

You may or may not of heard about this game but it is getting closer to launch and I for one am seriously pumped about it.  It comes from CCP the makers of the great sandbox MMO EVE online.  What will set this game apart is the fact that what goes on in EVE will effect what goes on in Dust and vice versa.

For those of you unfamiliar with EVE online I will give you a short synopsis of the game.  It takes place in a futuristic era of space.  It's a "sandbox" game which basically means everything is player driven instead of complete directives from the game makers.  Players have a choice to play as three different factions and can form corporations (it's version of guilds) and basically be miners, explorers, pirates, mega-corporations, or PVP fighters.  The cool part of this game for me is the fact that when fights start up they can be so massive that you could in theory get all 300 thousand plus players in one giant space battle.  Now this game isn't for the faint of heart.  It is very complex and can be time consuming, but if you like that kind of thing and can stick it out it is an amazing gaming experience.

  Say these said corporations and factions wanted to start battling over a planet or an entire star system.  Now this is where Dust 514 will come into play.  Well with Dust now instead of just a space battle you will now have a land battle going on in Dust.  As a Dust player you will be a mercenary who is hired to help the different sides take over a planet or star system.  You can choose several roles from vehicle pilot, help your squad mates as a logistics officer, or just go all out crazy killing machine on the front lines.  Everything is customizable from vehicles, armor, and skills.  You will take over key locations to secure the planet for your side and eventually take the planet over completely.

 The coolest part of all this to me is the fact that what you do in Dust directly affects players and environments in EVE and vice versa!   Basically if you like first person shooters such as Halo or Call of Duty and have a PS3 you are going to love this game.   Oh and also it will be free to play!  Yes you heard me right when this game is released it will be free to play.  This game is schedule to release sometime later this year.  Check out this E3 game trailer for another idea of what the game will look like on release.
