This round of rumors comes from Jeremy Horwitz of iLoung.com , who is saying that the iPhone will definitely have a 4 inch screen but it will also switch to a 16 x 9 aspect ratio instead of the standard 4 x 3 that the current iPhones use. It will of course be taller than the current iPhones but an interesting part of this rumor is that he says the iPhone will not be a teardrop design but remain flat and the back will be part metal made from the liquid metal that was rumored earlier this week. (even though the inventor of the Liquid Metal says that it would not be ready for mass production for at least a couple of years.)
The new iPhone will be 30% thinner that the current 4S. Also it is said this will be the first iPhone to abandon the 30 pin dock connector and replaced with a smaller round shaped connector half of the current connector's size.
This is an interesting set of rumors about the iPhone as this would in a way create a big headache for developers who would have to add more resolution types and sizes to their apps which Apple has tried to stray away from. It will be an interesting move for Apple. I would like to see a larger screen but not too large, but one that doesn't create a headache for developers to adjust too. Then again this is an Apple product and everyone will be bending over backwards to make sure their apps would work correctly.
