Nintendo Launched a new 3DS

Last night in a live stream Nintendo launched its new version of the 3DS called the 3DS XL.  XL meaning the screens are getting massive.  The larger top screen measures in at 4.88 inches while the lower touch screen comes in at 4.12 inches.  Another note is that this is a much heftier version of a portable gaming system and does not have a right thumb stick.  Why Nintendo did not announce this at E3 is a mystery, unless they didn't want to take too much attention away from the Wii U.

Sadly this is a pretty ugly upgrade without anything cool to show for it other than a larger screen.  If you live in Japan you better have your own AC adapter as this puppy will not come with an AC adapter.  Apparently this is done to save money, but will launch with an AC adapter in other areas around the world.  It is expected to laugh with a price tag of $199.99.
