Vizio Computers are now for sale!

Yesterday, Vizio had a press release for their new computer line.  We finally get to see what these guys have been cooking up for the last 6 months since their original announcement back at CES.  The most interesting thing is that all of these computers will start at $898.

That is an interesting start point I think.  The best deal here, from what little details we still have from the press conference, is the all in one computer.  Coming in at 24 inches and 27 inches with built in HDMI inputs for your cable box or video game systems and a sub woofer to boot, this is a great deal for $898.

You can tell that they have definitely taken their que from Apple and made these with very minimalistic designs.   I think all of them look very slick and well thought out in design on the outside anyway.  There will also be no bloatware on these computers, which is refreshing when it comes to a Windows computer.  They also seem to offer a pretty good line up of internal hardware including Ivy Bridge processors and Nvidia graphics chips.

On the notebook side some more details that we do know.  The notebooks will all have SSD hard drivers, and HD (1080p) displays.  They are referring to their ultrabooks as "thin and light,"  I suppose this is a way to differentiate themselves from all the other Ultrabooks out there.  It looks like the base price on all these will only get you an i3 processor and an i7 on the high end.  No word on the pricing of those high end models but it is a bit of a bummer that they start at an i3 for this price range you would expect more.

As these start trickling down into store shelves hopefully we will get more info and some detailed reviews of these products.  As they stand they are a fresh look on the windows platform and a welcome change.  I can't help but think for me I can spend $100 more and get an Apple Macbook Air or iMac which may or not be considered better products depending on your side of the Apple love/hate battlefront.  Regardless I am glad to see these finally available for sale and I hope it will reinvigorate the  stale PC design models.

Anonymous Walmart leak possibly shows the release date for Vizio's new computers.

Gizmodo is reporting that an anonymous tipster sent them this screenshot of the inventory system at a Walmart.  It shows two entries referring to a Vizio All in One PC and a 14 inch laptop to arrive mid June. I am really excited about this because these computers looked amazing at CES this year.  Also, it is awesome to see that there is a chance that they will actually be releasing these.  We after all, have had no other word about these computers since they were announced at CES earlier this year.

Vizio 8" Tablet review.

So I love Gadgets, hence the reason I am writing a blog now about them.  What I love most though is getting a gadget that I like for an amazing price!  Today that gadget is the Vizio 8"  android tablet.  I have wanted a tablet ever since the original iPad came out but could never justify paying $500 for one.  I already own an iMac, laptop, and an iPhone so I really had no practical reason to spend that much money for something that I truly did not need.  Regardless, deep down I still wanted a tablet.  So Christmas time rolls around and I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and so I started looking and doing research on the kindle fire and what it had to offer.  While doing so, I came across the Woot of the day at woot.com  and they had this Vizio tablet cheaper than the fire and with more features as it seemed from the description.  From what I could tell people either loved it or hated it.  Most of the people who hated it seemed to compare it to the iPad constantly in their opinions of the tablet.  First of all lets be honest comparing a Vizio tablet to an iPad is like saying you don't understand why your Kia doesn't compare to your Lexus.  The Vizio is not an iPad but it is a darn good little tablet that fills its purpose with very few issues for me.  Now if you are looking for an iPad alternative, I have to stay, stick with an iPad you just can't get any better.  If you are looking for a cheaper tablet with a lot of features, travels easily, or just to use as a media device for your home then this tablet would work great.

My full review after the break...
